CGDI Prog MB Key Programmer What worked and failed

In addition, CGDI MB tokens:
This device also work with tokens for password online calculation
Here is info from dealer about token for CGDI MB:
free token half year, after that it is free in each day, if u calculate more ,than need to charge 8usd for 30times and 16usd for 60times. Also all key lost need ONLY 1 token.

Conclusion: 
CGDI MB need improved function and report what work and not for now in this device.

CGDI is new tool, just come to market less than 3 months, what I can see in video and some users posted, report back successful: For me it’s good tool and have many good future.

Even VVDI, and others (more expensive price) have problem when beginning and still have too. The most thing that many ask for is: Absent clearly manual to work correctly on bench: All key lost.

This tool is the best investment return for now even with youth problems.

How to Renew Volvo XC90 ECM by UPA USB

Question before entering:
I have a 2003 XC90 ECM that I need to clone or renew a used unit.

I have xprog, upa, and galletto

Very new to this, only used galletto so far

Can someone instruct me?

Solution:
Read eeprom from the original and write to the donor. or exchange eeprom.
if it does not have to be eeprom 5p08 or 95160.
Try to find marked as 5p08 to identify the immo eeprom which is to be read.

Try look under ST chip, the last one … it read and write just fine!

Result:
Quick update. Read the original ECM eeprom, loaded on to donor eeprom with UPA USB programmer.
Soldered eeprom to donor ECM. Vehicle started.

Note: If have ECM software faults.
Had to do ECM reload with Volvo VIDA software.
Car is running great now!

How to make Kess V2 to OBD Write Subaru ECU

Read many posts to have the pin diagrams for the Kess v2 ecu tuning master Subaru cable. And luckily, i found this:

The man has a genuine kess subaru cable., and measured the cable for someone in need.

 

But it seems there is something wrong.

He has the red obd connector the wrong way round

A mate in the forum also says
”what you have as pin 1 is actually pin 9 and what you have as pin 15 or should be 16 is actually pin 1
when you hold it the other way round you will see pins 4 and 5 are sticking out more than the others, these 2 pins are gnd”

 

Probably right. The man made up the pin numbers on the OBD connector as reference to the way he did hold the connectors in the picture.
He must have missed pin16 but that pin has no connection to the DB25 so it should not matter.

 

Followed the instruction, i made one and tested ok.

Ps. Something good i found when i searched info.

Maybe it would helps someone.

 

According to the OBD generic standard, pins 4 and 5 are designated grounds. But in the 2000-2004 wiring diagrams, pins 12 and 13 are shown as connected to ground. (According to OBDII, pins 12 and 13 are data connections.)

Here’s what the OBDII pin out is supposed to be:

Note that pins 1 to 8 are at the wider side of the connector, and 9 – 16 on the narrower side.

Here’s what Subaru shows in the 2007 (also 2005-9) wiring diagrams:

As we can see, the pin locations are the same as the OBDII standard.

 

And finally, here’s the way it’s shown in the pre-2005 Subaru wiring diagrams:

Note that the locations of pins 1 to 8 are on the narrower side of the connector, even though the OBDII layout has remained unchanged.

This isn’t just a question of which way the connector is viewed. Pins 1 to 8 are always on the wider side of the connector, whereas the pre-2005 diagrams have them on the narrower side.

 

This anomaly affects where the connections are made. As noted, in the 2005+ wiring diagrams, pin 16 is shown to be connected to the always-on 12 V. But in the pre-2005 diagrams, pin #1 goes to an always-on source, SBF-5, in the engine compartment fuse box. (There isn’t a separate fuse for the OBD connector 12 V supply.)

 

In addition, as noted, the apparent inversion of pin locations affects the grounds and data line identification.

 

So a “heads up” if you’re using 2000-2004 wiring diagrams and working with the connections to the OBD connector.

Read and Write Toyota Diesel ECU by Ktag 7.020

Question before entering:

I have a Toyota with d4d engine 2.2d 177hp
Which tool can read and write

 

Solution:

kess v2 5.017 write it on CAN Line

But you have to do an original because you can’t read it

New Ktag clone should do it on bench in Jtag.

X17 official web and write it without problem by OBD or by pinout.

But only in CAN LINE and some think in Kline but you have to buy or build an adapter.

How to rework VAS 5054A PCB with OKI chip

Finally installed ISSI RAM on the Bluetooth VAS 5054A board. As someone suggested, chip quick made it easier to remove. If you have no previous soldering experience then i would suggest not to touch it.
My ISSI RAM chips are also made in Taiwan like the samsung 5v 10ns chips. Probably from the same manufacturer

Hard to say about RAM.But there is a dimple on the bottom side corner.I think its not that easy to manufacture fake but working RAM chips.If we take example of other chips like TJAT or OKI,fake chips don’t work at all.If SAMSUNG RAM is working,then i think it should be okay.But “Who knows”….
I heard that chips or products coming from Taiwan, generally are of good quality.

 

TJA1050 is High Speed

TJA1054A is Low Speed (can be replaced with newer TJA1055)
I removed fake TJA1054,OKI from my Vas5054a head. AU5780A was already missing from it

I did some bench-marking today.
I have 2 vas5054a heads now.
A) with 3.3v,70ns RAM,Non AMB module under a amb2300 shield with genuine looking ceramic antenna.
B)now with ISSIS 5v 10ns RAM with genuine AMB2300 module.
My findings:
With USB connection: B is ~4 secs faster than A in displaying control module list using odis-S 4.2.2 from the moment i click start diagnosis.

With bluetooth connection: A is ~14 secs faster than B. For some reason third party bluetooth is faster than the genuine amb2300. Third party module has a better signal strength too..With A i can easily connect my car(parked in my garage) from my living room but with B(genuine amb2300,i could not.

Also don’t know what they did, A can take PDU updates and downgrades like a genuine one with no problem despite being non AMB. It even works with newer ODIS-E 7.2. Only draw back is i can’t change buzzer and power down settings with it. But signal and speed wise, it’s better than genuine AMB.

 

Interesting observations. I used it strictly as a Passthru device for Mercedes

I have noticed that on the BMW side, the clone ICOM has faster bootup than my genuine ICOMs, and I was never sure why.
Speaking of passthru, yesterday I used the VAS5054a on a Sprinter and it worked perfectly fine with DAS.

CGDI BMW Program F31 FEM System Smart Key

The procedure:

 

Run CGDI PROG BMW software after finish all connection

Go to FEM/BDC key match

The current FEM BDC needs update the ECU program before performing key matching. Please ensure that the car battery has enough power. The programming process, please keep the equipment cable connection

Please remove the FEM BDC and then use the programmer to read and save data from the 95XXX EEPROM chip on FEM BDC computer board

How to Program Volvo V60 Smart Key with Lonsdor K518

Lonsdor K518ISE (same company made SKP1000) has wide key programming vehicle coverage , especially Volvo (S40, S60, S80, XC60, XC90, C30, C70, V40, V60, V70).  Here’s demo guide on programming V60 smart key with K518.
Step 1:Read the CEM security data
Volvo’s CEM is basically located behind the storage box which is in front of the co-pilot seat
Dismantle & read CEM to backup security data

Read CEM data and save it as VOV.BIN
Step 2: Program Smart Key
Reinstall CEM back to vehicle
Connect Lonsdor K518 host with vehicle via OBD socket

You can also program all keys lost if lost all keys

The third test

Lonsdor K518ISE key programmer program Volvo XC60 smart key via OBD: success

Step 1: Read the security data of the CEM module

 

Volvo’s CEM are located under the co-pilot airbag on the left, remove the debris box

Read CEM data with RN-01 board:

Plug K518ISE host, adapter, and RN-01 board:

Note: the new/old CEM box looks the same, but with different circuits.

 

For the old version of the CEM box:

when opening the lid, in the back of the circuit board, please pay attention to the black column with blue circles, which are the four positioning points that need to match stably with the white column of RN-01 board.

Note: The circuit board is coated with insulating glue, it is required to use the washing plate water to wash off the blue area of the insulation coating in the contact point (solder joint) , or power can not go through , if the needle of RN-01 board is broken, it will do to wire in the corresponding locations.

For the new version of the CEM box:

the circuit is different, which requires to wire to read the anti-theft data

Connect power to read the data

Separate RN-01 board to the motherboard to prevent it from conduction

Welding cable shouldn’t be more than 15cm

Step 2: Read the security data of the KVM module

 

Volvo’s KVM modules are located after the rear box, in the upside of the right rear wheel position (for 16 S60L car, dismantle from the right rear door to the wheel direction);

Open the module cover

Use the washing plate water to wash off the blue area of the insulation coating, or power can not go through.

Read KVM data with FS-01 board:

The most important note:

To failures in Volvo KVM data reading (coz the chip model is different), please do as follows:

① Use programmer to read out the data (.bin file);

② Contact and send the EEPROM data to K518ISE after-sales service, the engineers will convert the data into a dedicated file;

③  Connect K518ISE with computer and put the dedicated file into “file —> feature_35” folder;

④ Following the operations to select the KVM data from the process.

 

Step 3: Program smart keys via OBD

Refer to the following notes:

  1. For 6 keys, duringoperation, you need to firstly insert the keyinto the key slot and then operate by following the directions.
  2. For key recognition failure, please make sure the smart keyis not locked, aslocked key cannot be programmed, the fresh new key generally will not be locked.
  3. K518ISE has identification& unlock functions, which will test and identify whether a key is an unused one or not. If the remote control is invalid after the key is programmed (on condition that the battery is well installed and the remote control frequency is correct), try to import the CEM security data to unlock the key and then program again.

Note: Only the key of this car or corresponding car can be unlock after reading the CEM security data.

4,When installing Volvo battery, please note that the two batteries are placed in an overlap way and separated by a white paper in the middle, so please do not just replace the above one.

Dismantling is very simple also , just remove the metal key, and gently pry with a not so sharp knife in the same place where the metal key lies.
