Xprog V5.55 Read BMW E46 M35080 eeprom

Share a customer solution to read BMW E46 EEPROM M35080 with Xprog-m V5.55 programmer, including how to solve “FF FF” error when reading M35080.

 

All begin with “FF” error!

Took the cluster apart and soldered directly to pins of M35080 but still got the same results, reads of FF FF

 

Possible reasons:

M35080 16 pin adapter programming board used for the M35080 with the Xprog m is not working properly
”99% sure the FF reads are due to the adapter board” (by a xprog user)

 

How to do:
replaced the 8 wire harness with a new one and the soldering is as it should be

to remove the 8 wires from the board, connect brass pins and connect the 8 wires to the corresponding slots on the 16 pin connector thus avoiding the use of the board

the part of the xprog M35080 adapter programming board:

soldered the wires directly to the corresponding pins off of the connector that connects to the xprog box and thus bypassed the M35080 xprog green board:

the M35080 pin order and the Xprog-m 16 pin connector pin labels so that the correct 7 pins can be sequenced between the M35080 eeprom and the Xprog-m special programming board for the M35080 eeprom:

Have rewired and here is the read:

selected E46 M35080 and not E46 Bosch M35080 — that is why the read came out as pictured with an incorrect representation of the VIN and the other data
saved the original file on the m35080 eeprom and then we edited that bin file and saved it with another name

erased the m35080 and loaded the original file that was edited

wrote the new file to the m35080

did a new read to confirm all was well and it was
Hope it’s a matter of selecting the correct device, reading, saving, editing, renaming/saving, erasing and verifying all steps taken and finally writing and then doing a read of the new data on the M35080 and putting back together the cluster and calling it a successful finished project!!!!!

Ktag V6.070 checksum error to read PSA edc16c34

I had checksum error when reading PSA edc16c34 with Ktag K-tag firmware V6.070 master clone. Here’s the problem and possible solution provided by forum members. This a long story.

Problem:

I have a question for the experts of ktag / kess v2, yesterday received a ktag v6.070 and installed the software that brought in CD and to my astonishment has connection error and info has no serial number(L00000000), open the ktag and check that the SD card is corrupted has no information, this PC that used the ktag has no connection to the internet, now my doubts and have blocked nxp or so will be the sd card?

I’ll try to explain what aconteceo step by step.

1- installed as sw 2:13 brought the album exactly like this in the video in Win XP 32bit
2- called the machine and it installed the driver
3- plucked with softwear and he regular start all functional 100%
4 tried to read edc16c34 via direct bdm without pad as I regularly fgtech until before welding the ECU confirmed the position frame not to destroy the unit.
not read the error unit no longer remember that error then I turned off the ktag and as already had soldade pad connected to fgtech galletto and read all 100% ok.
5- back to connect to ktag boom and error and never worked.
problem and the Internet is impossible that computer has never been connected to the Internet so that the kess v2 works very well.
read here in the forum could be the card and formatted the card thinking that it was damage that was already corrupted.
in short there will be a solution for this ktag?

I did follow the instructions provided by 2 MH forum members

sort these then make new sd card files to sd card then retest

I will check all welds. But then someone can tell where it comes from the ktag the problem will be the nxp or sd? Can anyone share the sd 6.070 version since I formatted my card !!

I got the free sd 6.070 and test the sd and also reworking the welds a pergutna and format fat32.

With no positive results all the same reworked the nxp welds and nothing formated sd card in fat32 put the 3 folders in the root and nothing same error (not established connection). Can I have blocked nxp? or will be error hardware and software not !!!

and now what will be the problem of my ktag? after a few hours to weld the plate removed and returned to put the LPC ktag agreed so that as he had formatted the card he returned updating think was without tokens can check the image !!

I have connect this 10 pin flat cable to all 14, also but as giving the same mistake soldered 4 pins missing and put one and the same mistake.

but the error is always the same read ok but when writing the checksum error and the craziest and the file has the 500k capacity and the memory would have to be 2mb, tested on two different machines with win xp and win vista and today tested in Visteon dcu 102 in boot mode and not the error, talves the problem is the bdm port, and very unlikely that an ktag not make reading a edc16c34.

Ksuite make password protected zip file with ECU firmware if checksumm is not OK.
You can sure in that opening it in winzip. Unpacked file is 2mb size.

You do not notice anything, he’s read error in bdm so I’m doing writing, and incredible in tricoer boot is read correctly has been tested on Visteon dcu 102 and is read perfectly.

good again, today I made another test to ktag in bdm EDC16 and this time and 1000% ok. I think the problem is in PSA units, which does not explain the ktag as powerful machine that and not read a simple edc16c34.

My connection is normal usb cable and power 12v. In this moment I have resolve the problem of psa units and I use trasdata it working 100%.i have reworked my ktag and detect some transistors dead. psa ecu has checksum corrupt. ksuite save crypted files if checksum is not ok. trasdata save files without problem.

Program old Ford PATS key with the Key Pro M8

I tried to make new keys for Expedition 2001. I have MVP Pro clone (Key Pro M8), but I cannot see “key programmed” function in the menu list.

How to program old Ford PATS key with the Key Pro M8 auto key programmer?

KEY PROGRAMMING > 98 1/4 MY

a. Clear ALL Fault codes before programming
b. Up to 8 keys can be programmed into the PATS system
c. If programming is unsuccessful,the PATS LED will flash when the key is inserted
d. Newer systems are only supplied with 2 keys. Both keys are required to program further slave keys.
e. Master key can only be programmed using the 2 PATS keys (A and B) with the FDS2000 or the AD PROGRAMMING SYSTEM system
f. In some cases the vehicle doors must be closed to perform the re-programming sequence.
Further slaves can be added without any specialist equipment as follows:
1. Insert key A, and turn to Position 2.
2. Turn back to Position 0, and remove key A.
3. Insert key B, and turn to Position 2.
4. Turn back to Position 0, and remove key B.
5. Insert the new slave key and turn to Position 2.
6. Remove new key. Key is now programmed.
7. Procedure can be repeated after 20 seconds, for up to 8 slave keys.

MANUAL PROGRMAMING PROCEDURES DO NOT WORK ON ANY FORD GALAXY VEHICLES.
